WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT US
When you arrive, you can certainly expect a genuine smile and a warm handshake at the door. You may drop your family off under the overhang if it's raining, or, if you require, let one of our ushers act as a valet to park your vehicle. The parking lot is well-lit at night.
Our building is handicap accessible.
Greeters will meet you at the door, give you a bulletin, answer any questions you might have, and help you get to the right part of the building.
SUNDAY SCHOOLS
Our Sunday School teachers are in their classrooms by 9:15 AM every Sunday, ready to help you and your children feel welcome. We currently have six graded Sunday Schools, from the adults all the way down to the little ones. Of course, the nursery is provided during all services.
Each of the Sunday Schools functions with the same emphasis, that of teaching you and your family members the wonderful truths found in the Bible, foremost being the truth of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. As such, our teachers are well-trained themselves, caring, and committed to helping you and your family grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Sunday School hour ends roughly at 10:15 AM in order to provide a break before the main service. Your children will be escorted in the hallways, and each of the Sunday School rooms is locked when not in use for safety.
THE MAIN SERVICE
Starting promptly at 10:30 AM, the main service follows this general format: We usually start with a congregational hymn or two, usually mingled with the morning announcements. (We don't sing dry hymns, but lively soul-stirring ones!) During one of these songs, Pastor Butterfield will give everyone time to shake hands and greet one another.
If there is a soloist or instrumental performance, it usually falls next. About the same time, we collect the morning offering. As a visitor, please don't feel that you need to give anything. We aren't "after" your money. We want to be a blessing to you!
Last, but not least, Pastor Bob Butterfield will preach a relevant message from God's Holy Word. Pastor Butterfield has a very nice voice to listen to, but more importantly, he understands that what God has to say in His Book is what we need to hear. You can expect to hear him lift up the King James Bible as the absolute, final authority for all truth, for all men, for every situation. He faithfully strives to preach the "whole counsel of God" without compromise.
Immediately following the message, Pastor gives us an opportunity to come forward to pray to the Lord. Of course, God can hear you anywhere, anytime, but it is best to respond while the Holy Spirit is prompting you.
CHILDRENS' SERVICES
There are three special services for the children who are 4 years old to 12 years old. These services take place during the Sunday morning and Sunday night services, and during the Wednesday night service.
On Sunday morning and Sunday night, the children are dismissed from the main service before the message begins, and they go to Junior Church! Here, your children will sing songs, hear a brief message designed for their age group, and play a game to reinforce the truths that were learned. There may be puppets, skits, and other exciting things used, all to make Junior Church a blessing to your child!
On Wednesday nights during the school year, children from four years old through sixth grade are enrolled in Master Clubs. Master Clubs emphazises growth in Christian character and Bible knowledge through small tasks that the children perform to earn honor badges. All of our clubs leaders are careful to remind the children that they aren't just working for badges, but for our Lord Jesus Christ. There are separate groups for Beginners, Primaries, and Juniors. Be sure to check out our Photo Albums section for Master Club pics.
NURSERY
Your little ones are very important to you, and to us, too! Only handpicked adult ladies are selected to work in the nursery area. We utilize a vibrating-pager system with all infants, so that we can notify you if your child needs you. Also, for their security, all infants are only released to the person who returns the pager to the nursery.
In order to keep the spread of germs to a minimum, all sheets, blankets, and used toys are washed before being returned to use.
